Erik Wevers

Erik Wevers started rallying in 1991. Living in a part of the Netherlands where rallying is very popular he founded his own rally team. Soon he proved not only to be a talented driver but also a talented businessman. From the early start onward he carried out his hobby in a very professional manner.

erik-weversSince the beginning of the 2007 season Erik has teamed up in the car with co-driver Jalmar van Weeren. Together they won the Dutch championship and the, by Erik Wevers and Mark van Eldik introduced, Euro Rally Challenge in 2008 driving a Ford Focus RS WRC 06.

By specializing in the preparation of Toyota World Rally Cars Erik made a name for himself on national and international level. After Toyota announced the switch to Formula 1 at the end of 1999, Erik Wevers acquired all rallying activities of TTE (Toyota Team Europe). This is virtually the beginning of Wevers Sport as we know it today. In the year 2007 Wevers Sport did the same with the Czech factory team of Skoda. Toyota and Skoda parts are shipped out from the Markelo based warehouse to addresses all over the world every day.

Besides Skoda and Toyota the company ran a wide range of top rally cars in different championships such as Subaru Impreza WRC S12, Ford Focus WRC 06 and Peugeot 207 S2000.
